****Long review**** I initially posted a 5* review, but I am now changing that due to my most recent experience. The 2 stars are for the work that was completed in Summer. I had Dave paint and decorate my lounge and kitchen in the summer. He did a brilliant job, so much so that I asked him to come back and decorate the rest of the house. Dave was supposed to be coming mid November, but had to postpone due to one of his staff being poorly - fair enough - so arranged for him to start the following week. Monday arrived and Dave was there intermittently that day. He advised he was having to go and sort things at a new build estate that his company were painting. He left his apprentice doing prep for most of the day. Again, not really an issue. Tuesday, a fair bit was done and was pleased with progress. However, Dave told me he might be a bit late the following day due to issues at the housing estate. Wednesday, Dave didn't come as said he was needed to sort problems at the housing estate. Yet he popped in in the evening to put my youngest daughters curtain pole back up. Thursday, Dave sent 2 lads as he was needed at the housing estate due to issues there. They got the paint on some walls, but there was no attention to detail and it looked rushed and not a standard I would pay for. They were in and out going for cigarette breaks; they also left an hour earlier than they were meant to, having taken a very long (early!) lunch break. They were also aware that I was working from home, yet had music blaring most of the day. Friday, at 9am I spoke to Dave in the morning and he questioned if the lads were here...no they weren't - should have been there at 8am according to Dave. He then could not get hold of them. I said to Dave not to send them as I wasn't pleased with the work they had done anyway (Dave was aware of this). I asked him if he could do the work in future, as the reason I got Dave back was because he did such a good job in the summer, and I wanted him to do the work. He told me he would be here Monday... .... Monday, 5 minutes before planned starting, Dave let me know he had booked a covid test as felt poorly. Again, no problem. Tuesday, Dave contacted to advise negative and would be there the following day.......the next day, he still felt poorly. No problem. HOWEVER, this trend continued. After a couple of days, I didn't hear ANYTHING from him. Messages were received and read on WhatsApp, which then filtered to receiving messages but ignoring them. Tried calling, no answer. Absolutely so disappointed and upset with the service. Regret asking him back to do work. Seems he had taken too much on, and because my job would have been the smaller paycheck, I've been left completely in the lurch just before Christmas, with a slightly decorated, unorganised, messy upstairs. Luckily, I have sourced another decorator who is going to complete the job - and fix a lot of snags. I would not recommend DNW decorators to anyone. Yes, in the summer a good job was done, but a few months down the line, they have gone really downhill. Completely unreliable, always late, unorganised and lack of communication.

Well David was supposed to start work on my hall way and back bedroom on 2/12/21 this date passed and no David, waited Week had to contact him myself, promised to be here the following week Thursday arrived no David spoke to him again and he had sacked his helper so was running behind, promised to come he was struggling as he had not been well I told him that it could wait till after Christmas, he stood outside my house and "Put me in his book to start the 4/1/22 still no david another week has passed no David contacted him again he apologized he had Covid so was running behind he came around the 13th Jan 22 said he could not do the back bedroom as there was furniture in it (he knew this would be the case) he said he could work around it I told him to start the hallway as that was clear said he would start 14th Jan 22 no David again finally got a hold of him through a text said that he thought he had called me to say he was injured still not heard anything from him I requested that he return the keys to my house and the money paid to him. this is still not been done so he has been reported to the police under Fraud By Deception I will be seeing him in court you should think hard about hiring this company as he may not do the work as promised. and will keep any monies paid. Had to have the locks changed another £175.00 spent this will be added to the small claims court documents.
